2 Ways to Get Funding for Institute 2016!

Institute 2016: Shifts in Instruction for WIOA Implementation is coming soon on May 23 - 26 and May 30 to June 2 and applications continue to pour in. Complete details about Institute are available HERE.

I have talked with many people who want to attend Institute, but they do not have the money. Here are two more ideas for funding:

 1. Your Community College Foundation - Every community college has a foundation.  One of the foundation's missions is to promote the professional development of faculty and staff.  Check with your foundation to see what the requirements are in order to apply for funding.

2. United Way Community Impact Grants - Education is a major focus of the United Way. Claire Ricci, director at Alamance CC, says: "We asked for and received a grant from our local United Way for the 2015-2016 program year that includes money set aside specifically to fund 4 instructors to attend the App State Summer Institute. In past years our school has not been able to afford to send part-time instructors to that training, and we felt it very important that some of our instructors attend."

While it may be too late for the United Way for this year, keep this in mind for future years as budgets continue to tighten.

Remember, "You have not because you ask not!"
