Welcome to Adult Basic Skills Professional Development

Adult Basic Skills Professional Development, part of the Reich College of Education at Appalachian State University, provides professional development for College and Career Readiness (adult basic skills education) programs.  Our services include face to face, hybrid and fully online professional development across a range of critical topics.

We partner with the North Carolina Community College System (NCCCS) and are also available to partner with other organizations to meet their professional development needs.  Additionally, ABSPD conducts three day summer institutes on various topics each year in late May/early June.  We have been providing these services to adult educators since 1988.
